According to the American Kidney Foundation there are almost 37 million Americans suffering with some type of kidney disorder. Your kidneys are organs located just at the bottom of the rib cage and near the spinal column. They filter waste products from the body and blood as well as remove toxic fluids as by-products through the urinary tract. The kidneys are also important for activating a form of vitamin D which helps the body absorb calcium. Vitamin D is essential for muscle function and preserving bone health. Given the high levels of toxins in today’s modern environments, it’s more important than ever that you maintain healthy kidneys. As such, you need to know the symptoms of kidney disease. Signs of…

What is a Workout?
It seems like a silly question, but I do find myself thinking about it quite a bit. My usual workout goal is 104 workouts per year, AKA 2 workouts per week – something that I recommend for most people. Two workouts spaced evenly throughout the week allows adequate recovery time between sessions, and it’s a low enough number that even the busiest of us can usually attain it. If I helped someone load a heavy object into the back…
One Basic Concept for Longevity
Nothing makes sense except through the eyes of our ancestors. Yes, I’ve generalized a famous quotation for my own purposes, realizing that my clients need a perspective for lifestyle changes regardless of their personal belief system. When to Take Supplements
I get the question a lot. And the answer lies in my One Basic Concept for Longevity blog, which, if you haven’t read yet, proceed no further until you have. Vitamins D3 and K2 Well, when did our ancestors get their vitamins D3 and K2? Everyone knows that the best way to get vitamin D is through exposure to sunlight. It follows that since our ancestors obtained their vitamin D by being outside in the daytime, I recommend that vitamin D supplementation occur in the mornings and/or at lunch time. I usually do not recommend that vitamin D be taken with dinner, as it may fool the body into thinking that it’s mid-day, and therefore prevent adequate sleep later. As…
Dare to Be Wrong
Dare to Be Wrong! Being wrong is good science. Think about it: How many times did the Wright brothers get it wrong before they got it right (pardon the puns)? Elon Musk? Thomas Edison? These and innumerable others have much in common: They got it wrong many many more times than they got it right. And each time they got it wrong, they learned something from it… progressed from it… moved on from there, and eventually good things happened. Let the Missteps Guide you So, strangely, every one of the wrong decisions or hypotheses that those people ever produced actually turned out to be the RIGHT decisions because of their eventual success. Each step, no matter how misplaced, resulted in…
